Signs Now - the Sign Business of the Year - was invited to tender for a prestigious signage contract with Teeside University.
The Stockport branch of Signs Now prepared a bid for the contract and it proved to be the most competitive bid.
Signs Now had to be interviewed by the University to ensure that we had a high standard of quality control, a robust health and safety system, an environmental management system, and a track record of successful customer satisfaction.
Signs Now had a strict budget to work to and a strict deadline to finish the work. the project was brought in on time and on budget. The customer was delighted.
We would like to think that we played some small part in Teeside University being awarded the University of the Year. Well done to Teeside!
In 2008 Signs Now were invited to Knowles Hill School in Newton Abbot, Devon.
During the summer their status was going to change from that of a school into a college – Newton Abbot College. The campus is split over 2 sites. The challenge was to suitably sign each campus, provide way-finding signs around and between each and to advertise the college in a smart professional looking way.
Signs Now spent a good deal of time talking to the client to understand the layout of the campuses and the new college’s requirements. The college had appointed a marketing agency to help with the project and there was much liaison between Signs Now and the marketing agency.
Sign Now proposed and developed a mixture of freestanding monoliths, post and panels signs, interior and exterior wall signs as well as individual cut letters mounted directly onto the building.
Once approval was given, Signs Now was able to manufacture and install all signs in-house. By controlling the whole process from site survey through to design, manufacture and installation, Signs Now is able to guarantee a consistent image, a high quality product and complete customer satisfaction.
The college itself has been very impressed with the final job; Alison McDermott who is the learning support and marketing manager says "Thanks for the wonderful signs, everyone is happy with them and I am particularly impressed by your level of service and attention to detail".
In the Spring of 2005 Signs Now were approached by a design company regarding the provision of new signs based upon a re-branding project they had undertaken for a local college. The prestigious Clifton College is spread across many building and streets in the Clifton area of Bristol.
Working with the designer we surveyed all sites discussing their ideas and requirements and agreed upon the best ways to provide them. Given our experience in these situations we were able to go there and assess the sites from a new perspective, advising on issues such as sizes, suitable locations and materials. The signs clearly needed to be robust as well as portraying the image of the college.
All signs were then fabricated and installed in-house ensuring that all the new branding and colours were adhered to. The initial order consisted of over 125 signs which were a mixture of freestanding post and panel signs along with acrylic wall signs.
As Philip Hallworth of Clifton College itself says "This was a major re-branding for us, and it was reassuring to have our designers and Signs Now on board to ensure that the final product was exactly what we wanted. To have designer and manufacturer working closely together in this way ensured a high level of professionalism throughout the project and we have been delighted with the results – they have greatly enhanced the look of our campus".
